RIP Johan #Cruyff . Some reflections... I saw him play once, England vs Holland 1977. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxwPULhEGGU My Dad took me to see this international friendly match at Wembley in 1977. I don't remember a lot about it other than a classy Holland were a lot better than a plodding England side. I remember the England supporters booing and chanting "What a load of rubbish" at the England team... and I think I realised then, as a 12 year old, that many football fans don't actually understand the game very well. A point that has become more obvious over time :) England weren't poor, Holland were very, very good. A year later Holland were again runners up to World Cup hosts but without Cryuff, who didn't take part.
