Just watched The Day of the Jackal (original 70s version, on UK Netflix). Never watched it from start to finish before. What a great film. I was struck that Fox looked like a prototype for Bowie as TJ Newton & the 83 Bowie. From the wiki article...: I wasn't prepared for how good it really is: it's not just a suspense classic, but a beautifully executed example of filmmaking. It's put together like a fine watch.
