you should watch what +Channel 4 News are doing.
They are actually posting serious news stories and using (unique G+) features like Hangouts to do something different/more here.
From following the Guardian here it feels like they let the "C team"/interns have a play here because it's not important.
yesterday you even posted an advert for Zurich Life here (FFS!).
Come on The Guardian up your game! Now you realised the FB reader/platform thing experiment was daft you should be embracing the openness of G+ and the community you are beginning to build here.
