Put #Lubuntu on alison adams 's Ageing Thinkpad today. It's got 2GB of RAM but was struggling/swapping with WinXP. Lubuntu & Google Chrome make it a snappy and happy Laptop. Uses around 0.6 GB RAM after booting to the desktop... plenty left to run a bunch of Chrome tabs. http://lubuntu.net/

Google Maps gets Treasure Maps An interesting little feature popped up in Google Maps this morning. Open Maps from a desktop browser, click the box labeled "Treasure" at the top-right of the screen, and voilà:  (I assume we'll be seeing plenty more things like this as 4/1 grows closer...)

Went swimming with the boy this morning (he has a school swimming event later in the week and was a bit rusty).... I'm completely knackered!
