PC H/W HELP! My Dad's Thinkpad fails to boot & goes straight to this on the display. No BIOS, just this. #FT

Diagnosis/Suggestions?

Looks like the Screen itself or Graphics card has failed.
I have suggested finding an external monitor to see if that works.
I can't get to the laptop at the moment so any remote diags welcomed.
