Bowie's ★ Sax player Donny McCaslin (@dmccee) speaks. #Bowie #Blackstar
He'd understandably gone quiet on Twitter but I just had another look and found a brief quote:
"When the album was released on Jan. 8, critical praise was immediate. But elation turned to devastation just three days later, when news of Bowie’s passing broke in the early hours of Jan. 11. McCaslin heard when a BBC journalist called him at 4 a.m. “The last week and a half has been like no other; it’s been a bipolar experience,” he admits."

Also a nice statement on his website:
"It was in many ways a dream come true although I'm not sure I could have dreamed of such a thing. And now I'm equal parts sad and grateful for everything that has happened. David Bowie was an inspiration to work with and Blackstar is a testament to the time Mark Guiliana, Tim Lefevbre, Jason Lindner, Ben Monder, and I spent with him last year."

I'm hoping to hear more in time from these fantastic jazz musicians who contributed so much to Bowie's final album.
