The wise & funny Andy Hamilton on fantasists, fakery & post-factual politics.

I hate fakery, hoaxes & scams, we all should.
I find it hard to ignore social media posts from friends which are hoaxes & scams. I feel the need to point out the error, link to a debunking source (like Snopes) and let them know they've been fooled.
Often, I find people don't like being corrected, which I find hard to understand.
If I post a hoax or a scam I WANT to know, I want to be corrected.
Being fooled by a hoaxer & (worse!) passing It on to others is a social media sin!
If somebody like me takes the time to point it out to you the correct response should be: ooops, sorry everyone; thank you taking the time to help me; lesson learned, I'll be more careful next time :)

It's a leap to go from a crappy Facebook hoax to a Trump or the Brexit Leave Campaign... & yet (as in this article) I can't help but think there is a link & both are symptoms of a failure of individuals' critical faculties
Wise Up People! :)
